Biowen’s alpha-lipoic acid (R-ALA) in each capsule contains as much as 300 mg of well-absorbed alpha-lipoic acid in active form. The product contains isolated R isomers of ALA acid! The composition is free of unnecessary additives. In each capsule you will find alpha-lipoic acid and Fenactive®, which is a standardized extract of elderberry and chokeberry fruit extract, which contains valuable anthocyanins and polyphenols! Elderberry is a big help when it comes to antioxidant activity, immune system support, cardiovascular health or maintaining a healthy weight.
In this product you will look in vain for unnecessary fillers, dyes, flavor enhancers or anti-caking agents. As usual, Biowen is the definition of a simple composition, which is devoid of additives that are completely unnecessary!
Lipoic acid, is a substance that every person can produce on his own – it is a so-called endogenous substance. The body produces it to inactivate free radicals and to help regenerate reduced forms of vitamins C and E.
Biowen alpha-lipoic acid in capsules is closed in a convenient glass jar, with a metal cap. This makes it convenient to store, and prevents microplastics from getting into the supplement – as can happen when supplements are stored in plastic packaging. The jar, once the contents are used up, you can reuse! By choosing a supplement in a glass jar, you take care not to produce more plastic trash!

Fenactive is standardized extracts of elderberry and chokeberry. Chokeberry extract helps protect cells from free radical damage. Elderberry, on the other hand, boasts a long list of properties, such as:
- antioxidant activity,
- increasing water excretion by the kidneys,
- supports the immune system,
- supports normal blood glucose levels,
- supports during a cold, when suffering from hoarseness or cough,
- supports the maintenance of a normal weight, and when combined with a proper diet, helps reduce it,
- supports blood circulation.
Alpha-lipoic acid
Lipoic acid is an ingredient in many dietary supplements. On the Internet, we can read about it being credited with antioxidant properties, supporting proper insulin sensitivity or maintaining adequate cholesterol levels. However, none of these properties are approved for use. In accordance with European Union regulations, we are also unable to cite studies that have been conducted on lipoic acid, the R-isomers of which we used in the Biowen alpha-lipoic acid supplement. However, we encourage you to search for information on the properties of R-ALA acid on your own in reputable sources such as PubMed or the National Library of Medicine, where various studies are available for free.
