Hemp products - what concentration of CBD is right for you?
min. reading
Cannabis products come in different forms and percentages that leave you unsure how to choose well? Each differs in production method, content, spectrum of cannabinoids and many other things that may overwhelm everyone at first. That’s why we decided to lighten up the subject a bit. It’s not as difficult as it seems!
Concentration is the percentage of an ingredient in a product. That is, simply its quantity. In the case of CBD, this means its amount in the supplement. All of our hemp oils have the full spectrum of cannabinoids, in varying concentrations, as well as flavonoids, phenols and terpenes.
Percentages correspond to grams. CBD oil 15% contains as much as 1500 mg of CBD and other phytocannabinoids.

Is the concentration of CBD important? How to calculate the percentage in hemp products.
If we consider the amount of CBD we want to supplement, it turns out that the concentration does not matter so much. We just need to calculate how many mg of CBD we want to consume, and we will find out what amount of product we need to measure. Then even a product with a low concentration is able to meet our expectations. Provided it is of good quality!
Concentration, however, is important in the convenience of supplementing CBD products. In addition, if we want to supplement large amounts of cannabidiol (CBD), products with higher percentages will be cheaper. They will also be more efficient, of course.
How to calculate the CBD content? Very easily! All you need to do is look at the size of the product package and the percentage content, which should be included on the label. Thus, in a CBD oil with a concentration of 10%, in a 10ml bottle, 1ml is the cannabinoids themselves. That is, about 1000mg of CBD for the entire product.
1% = 100mg CBD
5% = 500mg CBD
50% = 5000mg CBD
Simple, right?
And now, depending on your own needs, it will be easier to choose the right product for you. Because these, depending on the CBD content, differ in concentration:
- CBD oils – the percentage concentration starts as low as 1% and goes up to 15%
- CBD pastes – more concentrated, with concentrations of 30% and 50%
- CBD capsules – if you don’t want to count, but expect a fixed amount of CBD, already measured for you. One capsule contains 1000mg of cannabinoids.
You already know how to count the percentage of cannabinoids in a product, what the concentration is and when it is important. And how to choose the right amount of CBD for yourself?
Unfortunately, there is no clear answer to this question. There is no table with a breakdown of the amount of the supplement by weight or age. But there is a way to determine CBD requirements specifically for you.
Starting CBD supplements is always first and foremost about your own experience. Start with the lowest amount, which is 1 drop 3 times a day. Remember, concentration doesn’t matter! If you feel the need, gradually increase the number of drops you take until you feel that is your portion.
In supplementation of hemp products, it is not worth sticking to rigid rules!
Why consume hemp oil?
As we mentioned above, the concentration does not matter much. More important is our individual need for CBD supplementation. The long-term use of hemp products with cannabidiol is not yet fully studied, but we can already talk about the advantages of using them.
Benefits of consuming hemp oil:
- supports the body’s immunity,
- supports the cardiovascular system,
- regulates blood cholesterol levels,
- affects triglyceride levels,
- supplements your diet with phytocannabinoids,
- provides you with omega-3, omega-6 and omega-9 acids.
Hemp oil – which one to choose?
We have a quick tip for you. If you are just starting your hemp adventure and have never had or dealt with CBD oils before, go for a low concentration – 1% or 5%. It’s best to start with low concentrations, because with them it’s easy to determine what portion is perfect for you. And also, in case the oil turns out to be a product that isn’t for you though, for example because of the taste, you won’t spend a huge amount of money on a product you may not use up.
Olej CBD Natural Strong 15% – 10ml is one of the most concentrated hemp products in our range.
CBD oil – what concentration is right for you?
If you have used hemp oils in the past and want to continue consuming them, choose a product with a similar concentration to the one you have been using, or which will best meet your needs. When you were using CBD oil 5%, 2 drops 3 times a day, you can now reach for a higher concentration, i.e. 10%, and consume 1 drop 3 times a day! The oil will last you longer this way, and you will continue to consume the same amount of milligrams of phytonutrients as before, consuming a larger portion of the oil with a lower concentration.
How to use hemp oil depends largely on your individual needs and experience. You need to choose the amount of product according to how much phytocannabinoids you need. You apply the oil sublingually, using a dropper to apply a measured amount of drops. And there you need to hold the oil min. 30 seconds. However, it’s better if you hold it under the tongue for up to 2 minutes, so that it definitely has time to be well absorbed! And then you can swallow the rest of the oil. Remember not to drink the oil right away!
Remember to eat healthy, keep sugar and processed foods to an absolute minimum. Try to lead a healthy lifestyle, walk, play sports or just try different physical activities. Movement is important! And pay the most attention to yourself – listen to what your body is saying and follow your body’s lead.
