Considering the wide use of hemp in various industries, it is impossible to overlook its application in the cosmetic industry. Hemp possesses unique care properties, and various parts of the plant can be utilized for beauty purposes. Both hemp seed oil and CBD-rich flower extracts are excellent cosmetic raw materials, gaining significant interest from cosmetic manufacturers. Application of hemp cosmetics

The use of hemp oils for beauty and skin and hair health dates back to ancient times. Currently, we have access to both hemp seed oil and CBD oils, both of which have unique care properties. For several years, cosmetic products containing hemp ingredients have been widely available in drugstores and cosmetic shops. These include face and body creams, hair products like shampoos and masks, and many more. Hemp provides not only protection for the skin’s lipid layer and excellent moisturization but also contains valuable anti-inflammatory substances that regulate sebum secretion, making it supportive for various skin issues. It’s worth mentioning that both hemp seed oil and CBD extracts are derived from legally cultivated hemp available in Poland.

Application of hemp seed oil in cosmetics

This oil is obtained through cold-pressing hemp seed. The resulting product retains its health-promoting properties, which are numerous. Primarily, it is a culinary oil with unique health benefits, mainly due to its high content of essential polyunsaturated fatty acids such as omega-3 and omega-6, which also have excellent care properties. It is a source of valuable elements, amino acids, and chlorophyll. It also contains a high dose of vitamins A and E, powerful antioxidants that help reduce inflammation and have anti-aging effects. Hemp seed oil can be applied directly to the skin or used as an addition to creams or balms. It is suitable for almost every skin type, including problematic skin.

The effects of hemp seed oil on the skin are broad. Primarily, it is a product with strong moisturizing properties, regulating the skin’s moisture and oil levels. Applied to the face, it improves complexion, restores elasticity, and lightly brightens the skin. The oil regenerates and smoothes the skin, preventing the formation of initial wrinkles by combating free radicals. It is an excellent product for dry, sensitive, and mature skin. With its natural sun protection factor, it can be used throughout the year. The oil can also be applied to the hair as a regenerative serum. Its high content of healthy fatty acids and amino acids acts as a natural emollient on the hair structure. Applied directly to the hair ends, it moisturizes and prevents split ends. It is also suitable for oiling the hair and even the scalp. It is best to leave it on the hair for a few hours and then wash it thoroughly with shampoo. When applied to the scalp, a gentle scalp massage before washing is recommended. Regular use of oil on hair and scalp will moisturize, smooth, strengthen follicles, and reduce hair loss.

Due to its anti-inflammatory properties, hemp seed oil is an excellent aid for various skin issues. Thanks to the soothing and regenerative properties of the oil, it alleviates dermatoses of various origins. In cases of atopic dermatitis, it rebuilds the lipid coat of the epidermis, preventing the skin from losing moisture. Moreover, its antioxidant content reduces inflammation and itching. Similarly, in conditions like psoriasis or eczema, the skin receives support in the form of a soothing and rebuilding film left by the oil. For example, it is recommended to use moisturizing baths or add oil to body balms. Excellent moisturization, regulation of sebum secretion, and antibacterial action support the treatment of acne and blemished skin. In this regard, adding oil to face creams or masks is beneficial.

Hemp seed oil face mask for oily and combination skin

Ingredients:

• Several tablespoons of gray clay
• 1 tablespoon of hemp seed oil
• Juice from half a lemon
• 1 drop of tea tree oil

Combine the ingredients in a bowl to obtain a paste. If it is too thick, add a little water. Apply to a clean face, leave on for 15-20 minutes, then rinse.

Hair mask for dry and coarse hair (hemp cosmetics for hair)

Ingredients:

• ½ avocado
• 2 tablespoons of hemp seed oil
• 1 egg yolk

Mash the avocado with a fork. Combine the ingredients in a bowl to obtain a paste. Apply to dry hair, leave on for 30-40 minutes. Wash with shampoo and follow with regular care.

Anti-cellulite body scrub with hemp oil and orange scent

Ingredients:

• 80 g sugar
• 3-4 tablespoons of hemp seed oil
• 1 tablespoon hemp flour (optional)
• 6-7 drops of orange essential oil

Combine the ingredients in a bowl, mix thoroughly, and transfer to a jar. Apply the scrub to damp skin, massaging it in circular motions.

Application of CBD in cosmetics

CBD oil is a type of extract obtained from the flowers of industrial hemp. It is one of the essential cannabinoids present in hemp, with a very broad spectrum of action. Cannabidiol affects the regulation of many important systems in the human body, and its action is described as holistic. Regarding the skin, it also exhibits regulating properties on various functions of the skin and epidermis. CBD acts on the skin through receptors that control moisture levels, sweating, sebum production, exfoliation, and aging. By applying CBD oil directly to the skin or in the form of a cosmetic containing cannabidiol, we support the regulation of natural skin renewal processes and epidermal regeneration.

CBD products are suitable for all skin types, especially recommended for problematic skin. For dry and sensitive skin, CBD helps maintain adequate moisture levels by retaining water in the epidermis and replenishing hydrolipids, preventing the characteristic feeling of skin tightness. In cases of blackheads, pimples, and rosacea, CBD cream acts anti-inflammatory on breakouts, reducing them and preventing the appearance of new ones, while also reducing redness and swelling. This compound helps regulate sebum production, which clogs pores. Cannabidiol has anti-wrinkle effects, limiting the formation of new wrinkles and reducing existing ones. In addition to its typical care effects, it’s worth noting that CBD in the form of ointments or balms supports the skin during skin problems such as psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, or eczema. CBD also has antibacterial and antifungal properties, exhibiting strong antimicrobial effects, weakening and killing undesirable pathogens causing skin diseases.

CBD anti-wrinkle serum

Ingredients:

• 1 tablespoon of hemp seed oil
• 1 tablespoon of argan oil
• 0.5 tablespoons of coconut oil
• 1 teaspoon of raspberry seed oil
• Several drops of CBD oil

Mix the ingredients in a bowl, transfer to a bottle with a dropper. Apply to the skin at night, before massage, or as an addition to care masks.

CBD-infused balm for irritations with beeswax

Ingredients:

• 4 tablespoons of shea butter
• 2 tablespoons of beeswax
• 2 tablespoons of jojoba/almond oil
• Several drops of CBD oil (the more you add, the stronger the balm)
• 4 drops of essential oil (optional)
